Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to act on verbal harassment
Is Valve finally starting to act on user reports? And what was being done before, nothing?
Hopefully I can get to play CS:GO more in the near future, because of this change and, if possible future efforts to battle this issue.
Lately I have been mostly playing Rocket League where the developer does mute players for harassing others in-game via automated system both working without reports and with reporting. But still even with this system I have kept to 1vs1 game mode and avoid playing with a team at all costs.
And after all CS:GO is a team based game where people insist on communication in order to win, easier at least compared to zero team communication.
But those who know me, know that I am not much of a talker so for now I have mostly only played CS:GO if I happen to get invited to play by friends. Maybe this will change if the overall use of communication in-game turns for the better but I don’t have high hopes for that.. After all, “it’s the Internet”, is an excuse to act like other players aren’t human or have feelings in general.
[ COMMUNICATIONS ]
– Players who receive significantly more communication abuse reports than others will receive a warning. If they continue to receive significantly more reports they will be muted by default. Other players can unmute them through the scoreboard as usual.
– Muting a player will now also hide their name and avatar.
– Reporting a player for abusive communications will now automatically mute them.
Going the extra mile to tell me how I cheat
I played a pretty normal classic competitive match in CS:GO and someone decided that I cheat just because they were losing, even before I was top of the scoreboard they did the same to someone else who was.
Nothing dodgy or lucky happened in that match even..

CS:GO isn’t fun to play 19.04.2019
As soon as I have played round 1 the players start to insults each others, including their own team members as well as the enemy team and it’s players.
That goes on for the whole game of 45 minutes nearly nonstop.
And around the middle of the game quickly after team swap someone from my team says that he is leaving so we could surrender. We didn’t even talk about surrendering and didn’t surrender after he left.
It wasn’t that players first time leaving the game as he got maximum ban tier cooldown of 7 days for leaving before the game was finished. Other tiers are 30 minutes, 2 hours and 24 hours, more about that can be found here.
It’s just no longer fun playing a game where everyone keeps constantly insulting others, abandoning their team by leaving before game is finished and other minor annoyances. But I guess that’s “just the Internet” so what can you do really? Nothing.
So should I just drop gaming fully and do nothing? I am open to ideas, please add me on Steam and suggest me games with more mature player base who knows some manners and acts civil.
CS:GO kicked on last round 1.12.2018
Why is this still a thing..?
NeoNezSkaChan voted yes
Konaer voted yes and initiated the kick
Jo2uke voted yes
Soap left the game and received a 30 minute cooldown
I don’t know if I got ranked down from that or not, I tried to quit, forgot I had a console command preset, had to type quit twice to leave.
I did not grief or do anything else to cause any trouble for my team. I only voted no on a kick vote for Soap when they tried to bully him after team killing him once on purpose.
Horrible game of CS:GO | 20.11.2018
I picked up a weapon from dead enemy player’s corpse, someone wanted that very same weapon from me.. I gave them another weapon instead. They kept asking for the weapon and eventually team killed me for the weapon.
After that he killed himself on purpose the following round along with their friend who was also on my team.
Then another teammate of my team attacked one of the griefers during spawn protection timer and instantly got banned forcing them to leave the game.
Somehow one of the griefers voted yes to kick their friend from the game, which also passed and they got kicked.
Then the last remaining griefer wanted to surrender or get kicked, whichever would happen first. But I refused to do either so they couldn’t rejoin their friend and continue griefing in other games causing even more players lose. After failed surrender vote we kept playing for a few rounds until the griefer got bored of losing and initiated a kick vote to get rid of me.
And of course the other player who wasn’t griefing who wanted to surrender voted to kick me so he could surrender and move on to a hopefully better game.
So I got kicked eventually but managed to waste some of the griefers precious time and most importantly made their friend wait even longer until they could continue.
KRZYSIEK:::::MAKA didn’t grief and wanted to surrender.
foxy griefing team killer.
